10 Amazing Animals That Have Been Dying
The extinction of animal species belongs to life on earth. Biologists sometimes claim that 99% of all animal species that have lived on Earth have already died. That does not mean that there are very few animals left today. It simply means that the plurality of species presently present is only a fraction of the number of animal species that used to exist. So extinction is very natural. Nature changes constantly and animal species need to change. That means adjusting, or perishing.
Well, that’s to die, but it has to be said that in recent centuries many more species are “extinct” than would be the case if only nature was going to work. But another source of extinction has evolved, over the last centuries, and that is man. Of course, we are, in principle, ‘part of nature’, but because of our enormous impact on the world and all species living in it, our influence is much greater than that of many other factors. Hence, the so-called extinction rate is about 1,000 times as high as expected due to natural dynamics. And the expectation is that this will only happen.
