What’s more mysterious than an unresolved issue? That depends on the question, you think maybe?Overall, but that is a bit of a problem. After all, to be mysterious, a question must be unresolved. But at the same time we also want to solve it. An issue that nobody can interest in is not mysterious, it’s just a non-topic. The more we want to solve a mystery, however, the greater is the chance that we will actually find an answer, and then we will have no more mystery. So, the greater the mystery (that is, an unresolved issue of interest) the more opportunities we create to solve it (by brilliant people and a lot of time). Mysteries therefore solve themselves!
But some mysteries are so mysterious that we have not been able to find the solution in spite of all our united forces over the centuries. And not because nobody was interested! Who does not want to know what that code language means, what messages are hidden, or what treasure is being spoken? The following ten mysteries are incredibly interesting, yet still not resolved!
10. Voynich Manuscript
Wilfrid M Voynich, a Polish American who sold antique books, won a 240 page long manuscript written in 1912 in a language that was completely unknown. In addition, the script contained beautiful pictures and drawings of animals and plants that do not exist in our present world. There were also inexplicable charts and other icons present. Scientists have found that this manuscript dates from the 13th century, somewhere between 1404 and 1438. If it’s already a fake, or a very old, pricey and hard-to-do freak!
TOP 10 BIGGEST UNRESOLVED MYSTERIES
Of course there are plot theories that claim that the book is of alien origin. Other historians believe that it may be a text written for and by alchemists. A modern form of medicine, one suspects. Admittedly, the knowledge of medieval doctors is definitely “mysterious”, if you compare her to the current medical practice!
Jim Sanborn is the artist who produced this image and can be seen just outside the CIA headquarters in Langley (in the United States). No one (we take on except Jim Sanborn himself) has so far deciphered what is said in the hieroglyphs. However, in 2006, Jim gave the world a tip: the first few characters give clues about the meaning of the last signs. Ah, right. This has not helped decryption. In 2010, Jim again tried to help us with a tip: the characters 64 to 69 in Part Four (NYPVTT) mean Berlin. Are you involved with this knowledge? Let the CIA know, I’m sure the intelligence service, known for her knowledge about everything and everyone, wants to know what’s in their front yard!
8. Beale numbers
Want to know the location of the largest treasures from the United States history (gold, silver, jewelry, you know, the default content of a treasury)? You only need to decipher the Beale numbers. Thomas Jefferson Beale was the first to find the treasure, in 1818. But only one of the three counts is deciphered by the handsome heads who have bent about it. The others are still a mystery (and very profitable, so you can imagine that interest in this issue is high!).
That one already decrypted text was decrypted with the help of the Declaration of Independence!Unfortunately, we do not get very far because this text only informs us about the region: Bedford County. It’s just too big to dig for a good feeling. Although it has not stopped a lot of gold hunters!
7. Phaistos Discus
In 1908, Italian archaeologist Luigi Pernier found a discus in the remains of the Phaistos palace, in old Minoa. There are mysterious symbols that may suggest a kind of hieroglyphs. They probably stem from the second millennium before the birth of Christ! Old so, very old, and that makes deciphering difficult, maybe impossible.
TOP 10 BIGGEST UNRESOLVED MYSTERIES
There are scientists who believe the hieroglyphs are a variant of the ancient Script Linear A or B. Nice, we can do that anyway, right? Nevertheless, because Linear A is also a mystery to us.
So we still do not know what’s on the disc. Perhaps something of “beware, sharp edge?”
6. The Shugborough Inscription
If you look from a distance to the 18th century Shepherd Monument in Stafordshire in England, then you’ll see nothing special. But if you come closer, you soon notice that there are a whole host of strange letters on the walls. They are letters from the alphabet, but their significance has allowed scientists to guess for years. Even the “author” of the text, the master brain behind this code, is unknown. Two famous Charles (Dickens and Darwin) have tried, together with many others, to decipher the meaning of this, but so far nobody has succeeded!
The rumor is that there would be a hint left by the Templars Knights , who would declare the last resting place of the Holy Grail. It may also be that someone just wanted to practice his alphabet-on-stone …
5. The Taman Shud case
This time no signs or hieroglyphs, but a mysterious body. In December 1948, a body of a mysterious and unknown person was found at the Somerton Beach near Adelaide, Australia. His only possession: A note with the words “Taman Shud” was sewn in his pants.
You can translate this as “finished” and “done” and this is a text used by poet Omar Khayyam on the last page of his collection work (called the Rubaiyat). However, it will be even stranger. Later, a version of the Rubaiyat was found, with notes that can not be deciphered, but appear to be the same as the paper with “taman Shud”.
Many people guess that it was a kind of original suicide letter. However, if that is the case, the code is no less cracked, the characters are still unreadable!
4. The Wow! Signal
When Jerry Ehman, a volunteer for the SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) search for alien intelligent creatures in 1977, was watching radio waves, he suddenly saw a tower-high peak in his observations. Perhaps Jerry is the first human being on Earth to receive alien messages. The signal lasted for 72 seconds and seemed to come from an area in the Universe where people had never been.Should you say something, the Sagittarius system, near the star Tau Sagittarii. About 120 light years away from us, quite a bit so …
Why Wow? Well, Jerry wrote exactly the letters on the print of his observations. Since then, the signal is known as the “wow” signal. The beast must have a name, ..
But nominated or not, we have never been able to perceive such a signal, and thus it remains a mystery where it came from, and what the alien communicator meant.
3. The zodiac letters
This is a series of coded messages, attributed to the famous Zodiac killer. This was a serial killer who succeeded in San Francisco in the 1960s and 1970s. These letters might have been written to journalists and the police, or to get attention. One of the messages has been decrypted, the other three are not yet. And also the identity of the Zodiac killer is still not revealed. But the murders have ceased. Perhaps the game became boring over time because nobody could decipher the messages?
Many more killers, but less mysterious in our top 10 serial killers .
2. Georgia’s direction stones
This collection of remarkable stones is also called the American Stonehenge (America wants everything in Europe to be a variant, it seems, New York, New Jersey …!). The monument is located in Elbert County, where it was set up in 1979. There are eight different languages (English, Spanish, Swahili, Indian, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese and Russian). All eight write about ten new Guidelines intended for an era of reasonableness. There are certain astronomical requirements that satisfy the location and position of the stones, and it is therefore a very straightforward-right monument, not a mystery to admit!
And yet … no one knows (more) why it was put down by whom, and who gave the assignment. The latter person goes under the pseudonym RC Christian, but his or her real identity knows no one.
Also the commandments that are on it are remarkable. The most remarkable is: “maintain humanity below 500,000,000 in eternal balance with nature”. Well, if that’s for human life, we’ve already overlooked it. And indeed, we do not really live in balance with nature …
Some people have tried to remove the stones because they suggest such controversial things. There is an fear that they are placed by a religious sect , but if so, nobody has claimed it yet!
It may sound like the last attraction in Walibi , but Rongorongo is actually the name of a mysterious character system written on different objects on the Easter Isles. Unfortunately, nobody can decipher them, and that’s especially regrettable because a second mystery could be explained: the sudden collapse and disappearance of the image-forming Easter Islanders. This civilization disappeared tracefully, leaving only the massive faces behind which the Easter Island is known. Perhaps the whole story is written in their language, but we can not (to date) be wise! Because it combines two mysteries in one, Rongorongo is therefore on the number one of this list!
Presumably, everybody in his youth has written one or two “coded” letters to friends, possibly to complain about the miss, or to joking with that new boy’s pants! The examples in these top ten, however, are almost all old finds, and even after years of years of efforts, after the most complicated mathematical programs have been released, and the coolest heads have bowed over, they are still obscure. The people who wanted to keep their message hidden have so far won. But the biggest mystery is … why would they like that? Why free time to write, if nobody reads it? Whoever writes, stays, goes on saying, but only if people can read it. If people can not read, you have to offer something different, which makes people read reading. For example … a hidden treasure?
