The 10 tallest buildings in the world all have a height of more than 450 meters. Four of the top 10 buildings are located in China. Three of the buildings from this list were built in 2016. They drove out the famous Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur from this top 10. The number 1 of this list is unchanged and still shoots over the other buildings. This is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

The highest among the skyscrapers of Hong Kong is the International Commerce Center, also known as the ICC. The building was designed in modernist style by Kohn Fox Associates. The construction of the immense tower was realized in the years 2002 to 2010. It has a height of 484 meters. The highest floor is at an altitude of 468,8 meters. It contains many escalators and elevators with high speeds. The ICC has office space, the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Sky 100, an observation deck on the 100th floor (393 meters high).

The Shanghai World Financial Center was opened in August 2008. In the time of delivery, it was temporarily the tallest building in the world at a height of 492 meters. A striking aspect of the tower is the big hole at the top. Above this hole is an observation platform accessible via a lift. As the name suggests, the Shanghai World Financial Center has a financial center.

In Taipei’s Taiwanese capital, the skyscraper is Taipei 101. In December 2004, this tower was opened. It was then temporarily, with a height of 508 meters, the tallest building in the world. Originally, this building was not intended to be so high. It was only during construction that the plan was to increase the tower to 101 floors. There are shops on the lower four floors and a fitness center on floors 5 and 6. On the 7th to 84th floors, offices are located and restaurants on the 86th to 88th floor are available.Several observation pads are present, on floors 89, 91 and 101. Then there are communication facilities on floors 92 to 100. The lifts in the building are spectacularly fast. There are also double deck lifts.Because Taiwan is regularly hit by earthquakes, measures have been taken with the construction of Taipei 101. At the top of the building there is a spherical weight which causes the tower to move counter-vibration when vibrations occur. Every year, a major fireworks show takes place from Taipei 101.

The last part of the construction of the CTF Finance Center in Guangzhou, China, was realized in 2016. The building has a height of 530 meters. It features 111 floors, consisting of a conference center, hotel (Rosewood Hotels & Resorts), shopping mall and office space. There is also an observation deck at the top of the building.

The tallest building in America is the One World Trade Center in New York . It has a height of 541 meters. This is equivalent to 1776 feet and refers to the same year. In 1776 the American Declaration of Independence was signed. The name of this building is a reference to the World Trade Center, the original building, which was destroyed by the well-known terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The building was designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill Architects, with chief architect David Childs. It is made into a very safe skyscraper. This can prevent a new attack and limit the damage to such an attack. In 2006, the construction of the new building was started. In the year 2014 the opening took place. The One World Trade Center has 94 above ground and 5 underground floors. There are a shopping center, offices, a restaurant and a 387 meter observatory in the building.

In March 2016, the construction of the 555 meter high Lotte World Tower in Seoul was completed. With this the skyscraper is the highest tower of South Korea and the number 5 of this list. The building has 123 floors and is next to the Lotte World complex. There are apartments and a hotel located in the complex.

With a height of 600 meters, the Chinese Ping An Finance Center in Shenzhen has been ranked number 4 on this list since 2016. The complex was built on behalf of the company Ping An Insurance and was designed by US architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates. There are offices, a shopping center, a conference center and a hotel in the building. The main office of Ping An Insurance is also here. On the two upper floors there is an observation center. Also fast double deck lifts have been realized in the immense building.

Mekka has been in the place of Abraj Al-Bait Clock Tower since 2012. It is the second largest floor area(1,500,000 m²), the tallest hotel in the world, and it is also the largest clock in the world. The complex consists of several buildings. Its highest is 601 meters. It features a parking garage, a large shopping center, a 5-star hotel, residential towers, helicopter decks. At a height of 450 meters, the highest level of living space is just below the clock. The clocks are located on each side of the building and have a diameter of 46 meters. They reach the height of 530 meters and are still visible to a distance of 25 kilometers. A top of 71 meters is on top of it.

China’s tallest tower is in Shanghai. This Shanghai Tower has an altitude of 632 meters. The skyscraper was designed by architect Gensler. In 2008, construction began. By 2015, the Shanghai Tower was ready. It has 121 floors with shops and offices.

Since January 21, 2007, the Burj Khalifa in the United Arab Emirates is the tallest building in the world.Then the building was not even finished. It reached its highest point only two years later, in January 2009. It stands at a height of 828 meters now well on number 1 of this list. In fact, the tower would be called Burj Dubai. Only one hour before the opening was decided to name the tower for the president of the United Arab Emirates. The Skidmore architectural agency, Owings and Merrill from Chicago designed the Burj Khalifa. It is in the form of a Hymenocallis, a desert flower that is common in the region. There are offices and 900 apartments in the complex. Within eight o’clock all apartments were sold. On the 78th floor there is a swimming pool, 123th lobby, 124th observation deck, 143th nightclub.
