The Palm Jumeirah is an artificial archipelago. Actually, it consists of three islands that form the Palm Islands: Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Deira. They are made in the shape of a palm tree and extend the coast of Dubai with 520 kilometers of additional coastline. One of our provinces, the youngest, since officially launched in 1986, is the largest artificial island in the world: Flevoland originated by the dripping (or the polishing) of the former Zuiderzee.
