Paris is one of the most famous cities in Europe. It is the central capital of France. In this mega city, not only do 11 million people live, and 25 million tourists visit. Paris is also called the city of love. Mainly you will find this romantic atmosphere in the many old buildings, which brighten in the dark. The city has a lot of sights. Unfortunately, they could not all be placed in this top 10, but earlier we made a top 10 of original things to do in Paris .

10. Place des Vosges (square)

In the 9th arrondissement is Opéra Garnier . It is also called Palais Garnier. As a palace, it shows the opera house in the French capital. Inside there is a lot of marble, gold leaf and frescoes. A huge painting by Marc Chagall is on the ceiling. The building dates from the year 1871. It was designed by architect Charles Garnier in a neobarok, extravagant, eclectic style. In the past, the service served as a opera house. Now there is a museum that focuses on French theater history. Also ballet shows are taking place here.

The Sacré-Coeur is on the hillside Montmartre. The white colored basilica has a particularly beautiful appearance. There is a green square in front of the church with huge stairs. From these stairs and from the basilica you have a beautiful view of the city. In the basilica is a very large mosaic image of Jesus.This church was built in the late 19th century to commemorate the Franco-German war and the many victims that brought about it.

In the center of Paris is the Notre-Dame. This is a cathedral rich in history. Here, among others, Napoleon (in 1804) was crowned as Emperor. The Notre-Dame was built between 1163 and 1345.
